Almira Bardai, Principal

A seasoned, senior communications professional, Almira has been in the public and media relations industry for approximately 13 years, managing a range of strategic public relations and communications services.

As principal of AVID Communications, she directs and implements domestic and international, brand and corporate public relations strategies and activities, driving media strategy, awareness and coverage for diverse clients. Her services include: public relations strategy, planning and counsel; campaign development; media relations; issues management; writing and corporate communications; investor relations and shareholder communications and event coordination/management. Almira is also a freelance journalist, specializing in the restaurant and nightlife industries.

Almira has spent many years working abroad; she was previously Head of Global PR at Cobra Beer, one of the UK’s fastest growing beer brands, and has also practiced public relations and communications in Australia. At Cobra, Almira was responsible for UK and global public relations, as well as corporate, internal and marketing communications, sponsorship, product launches and brand diversification campaigns.

Prior to Cobra, Almira worked at Wilcox PR, one of Vancouver’s premier public relations agencies, with clients such as Nike, Molson, Purdy’s Chocolates, London Drugs, Best Buy and TELUS.

She is also a frequent speaker at business seminars, including Milestones to Success, discussing effective media relations. Highly involved in the community, Almira is the marketing co-chair for the Starlight Children’s Foundation, an officer of the COS Football Giveaway, which provides soccer balls to children in Burundi, and a member of the Guava Club, a Vancouver-based volunteer organization.
